Sudbury House is probably the best thing in Faringdon, that quaint but scruffy town on the A420 between and Swindon and Oxford.
It was revamped a few years ago and has had a number of the country’s top chefs in the country working there, the most famous being Nick Bennett, who was a MasterChef finalist a couple of years back.
But it doesn’t seem to matter whose cooking because the food is pretty good. I went to the Magnolia Restaurant there recently and couldn’t fault it. The food was delicious.
The hotel is set in nine acres of beautiful gardens and a wonderful alfresco terrace for when the weather warms up. There are friendly people from the front desk to the restaurant and the prices are reasonable.
And for the serious motorists there is a Tesla recharging space.
