The Swan at Southrop is now part of the Thyme empire which started ten years ago and now owns a number of homes in the village and is part hotel, spa and events venue. It is right next to the village green.

I’ve been a number of times and generally the food is good.

The Swan was a 17th century coaching inn, with sawdust on the floor and also a bakery. It has been recently modernised and the chefs get their produce from the farm at Thyme. Their meals are quite brilliant.

The drinks menu includes craft ales, beers, English & Breton ciders as well as wines from small independent producers in England, France & Portugal – all available by the glass or carafe.

A regular visitor was the world famous model Kate Moss who has a home in the area. Sadly she hasn’t been seen for a while, so I hear.
