One of the best pubs in the Cotswolds is the Hare at Milton under Wychwood and it is back at its best after closure due to COVID-19.

It was brought back from the dead around four years ago having been empty for more than 10 years.

Located within the triangle of Burford, Chipping Norton and Stow it is the perfect country pub.

The previous owner Rachel has now sold the place to a new proprietor but don’t worry the standards haven’t dropped and chef Matt is still in place. Coincidentally the new owner is called Matt as well. Sadly the manager Henrietta has left for a new path and in her place is new manager Rosie.

The team continues to be passionate about cooking who create delicious dishes from predominantly local suppliers.

They serve the full a la carte menu every lunch time and evening with the freshest fish and seafood available from Devon and Cornwall and delivered daily.

They also serve a selection of freshly prepared salads and sandwiches Monday- Saturday lunchtimes and a board of excellent bar snacks are always available.

You will go a long way to get better but they need to sharpen themselves up. It took five of us two hours to have lunch and we didn’t even have starters.
