The photograph website of the Falcon Inn at Poulton, near Cirencester is shown under a rainbow which is quite apt because the food at this establishment is pretty damn good.

We had lunch there last week and were well looked after by a delightful landlord who wasn’t in our face while we ate. Gushing landlords tend to be a rather irritant.

But the owners of the Falcon have made the place a great village pub – a friendly place to get good food at a reasonable price.   The Falcon is a traditional British country dining pub with a focus on locally brewed cask ales, an interesting wine list and classic English dishes that will draw customers back again and again.
The chef takes his inspiration from fresh ingredients which are available to create monthly changing menus that move with the seasons. Local suppliers are used where possible.

There is no fuss or formality and they try to keep things pretty relaxed with well-behaved children always welcome.

Because it is a popular place they do get pretty busy and booking is advised. Call them on 01285 850 878 or send an email to bookings@falconinnpoulton.co.uk

They have gift cards which are available in any denomination and are valid for 12 months.
