The Churchill Arms is at Paxford, just a few miles away from Moreton in Marsh and for food it’s without doubt among the top five pub/restaurants in the Cotswolds.
The Churchill is the first solo venture by owner and chef Nick Deverell-Smith, who has created a range of dishes which are both tasty and a delight.
Nick must be good because he learned the business working with Gordon Ramsay, Marcus Wareing and Marco Pierre-White.
The Churchill Arms is a pretty pub in a pretty village. Look out for the Hovis and dog biscuit signs reminders of a bygone age.
The pub goes back to the 17th century with flagstone floors and an inglenook fireplace. Parking can be a problem.
